Systematic Trading Strategies, Performance for 2026-07-29 Estrategias Sistemáticas de Trading, Rendimiento del 2026-07-29
Full disclosure before anything else: no trades were taken today. A hard trading rule keeps the systematic book flat through FOMC, no exceptions, and today was an FOMC session. The systems still ran end to end, not to trade, but to gauge how they would have reacted to a macro event day, a deliberate sensitivity read rather than a live session.
Earnings 30-min ORB. Thirty-seven names were screened, the widest slate this record has ever seen, wider even than the prior record set two sessions ago. Had the book been live, three names would have triggered: EXLS and HURN would have closed as successful ORBs, and WING would have closed as a failed ORB, a theoretical 67% rate across the triggered names. Five more, AVTR, ENPH, NEO, PUMP and QURE, reached expired status with no breakout by the cutoff. The remaining twenty-nine stayed No-Go on the day’s filters. None of this produced a dollar of real P&L; it is a read on how the filter behaves when a room this large gets screened on the one day of the month the book is deliberately not trading it.
Bounce Play Scanner. No candidates met the day’s criteria in the observation run.
Intraday Mean Reversion. No candidates met the day’s criteria in the observation run.
The discipline here is the point. A system willing to sit out its widest opportunity set of the month rather than break a hard rule around a known volatility event is worth more than one more theoretical win, and today’s exercise exists to make sure that when FOMC days come again, the sensitivity of every filter to that kind of session is measured, not guessed.
